Andreas Ericsson at op5 is working with major improvements of Nagios. The focus areas are:
- Complexity reduction by moving from multi-threading to single threaded programing
- Reducing latency
- Disk I/O usage reduction
- CPU usage reduction
- Memory usage reduction
